Please join Hakafa's Film Group for its last screening of the year on Saturday, May 25 at 7:00 p.m. at our offices at the North Shore United Methodist Church (213 Hazel Avenue, Glencoe) as we screen A Serious Man (2009). In the film, Larry Gopnik has hit a "rough patch." People are dropping dead all around him, his wife wants a get (Jewish divorce), and his whining kids and inadequate brother only add to the heavy load. Directed by the Coen brothers, this dark comedic send-up of Midwestern, suburban, Jewish culture circa 1967 will bring a spark of recognition to those of us who were there.

Hakafa's film group meets once a month, September through May, at 7:00 p.m. on a Saturday evening at the Hakafa offices at the North Shore United Methodist Church (213 Hazel Avenue, Glencoe) to screen and then discuss films of Jewish interest.
Each month, the group meets beforehand at 5:45 p.m. for a light dinner at Vernon's (Vernon Avenue, Glencoe).
All are invited to join Hakafa's film group for dinner and the movie or just the movie. Members should feel free to bring friends, family, and a nosh!
Check the monthly newsletter for movie details and feel free to contact Mike Solomon with any questions.
